"I have been insured with State Farm for over a decade, I moved to Florida in 2023 and had my insurance transferred from a different state to Scott Nelms agency. There were several mistakes made with nothing changing to my policy other than my address. Spent an unacceptable amount of time with multiple phone calls to sort everything out. After a few months I moved to a different address and had the same problems. 12 months later I moved again and called to have my renters insurance changed to a different address. 3 weeks later our rental was damaged during a hurricane so I called State Farm cooperate to cancel renters insurance since local agent was closed to remove renters insurance. Found out I had a duplicate policy for my renters insurance. Asked cooperate to remove duplicate policy and original policy since I would not be living there anymore. Once local office finally called me back 2 weeks later I found out my neither the original nor duplicate policy had been canceled. The staff at the front desk had an attitude with me about being double charged. Unfortunately I would not recommend this local agent and lost trust in cooperate State Farm after many years of a great relationship with a different agency. Don’t use this agency if you want to have to monitor your own account and call over and over again to straighten out mistakes made by this local branch. Shopped around and rate cut in half for the same the coverage and everything transferred over without a hiccup or having to call back to fix their mistakes on my policy. FIND A DIFFERENT LOCAL AGENCY OF STATE FARM."

"I’ve been a customer since like 2018 I think and I got stationed in KY with the military. I’ve recently retired and called to get my policies converted to FL again and my information was taken down but I never received a callback even weeks later. Poor customer service. I went with Brenda Whitman agency instead and I immediately got an agent and she called back with a quote within an hour. DON’T USE THIS AGENCY."

"I worked with Chris DeMint, who was 4 stars overall. I only subtract a star because he was not willing to quote me a lower amount for my homeowner's because he would be underselling me, in his opinion. My mortgage company required about half of what Chris insisted on, and I feel their cost to rebuild was closer than where he was. Maybe he just felt it was the right thing to do. I hope it wasn't a conflict of interest because of commissions. If commissions are based on policy amount, that should be disclosed immediately and it would be nice if that were not the case. Regardless, if a customer says they want a different coverage, offer your professional advice but offer it up readily."
"Hello KC! It was great working with you. And I appreciate the review. I am glad that you found a policy that worked for you at the end of the day. The two competing factors here would be the mortgage company only needs to cover how much you owe on the loan which in most cases can be much different than what the building is worth to rebuild. I do have a fiduciary duty to advise you as an agent how to protect your interests in the best way I can. And no commission will come before that. Though I can understand from a customer perspective how that could be viewed that way. I would have been uncomfortable writing such coverage on the home with the options I had available at the time, and truthfully say we had your home insured to replacement cost, but I am glad you found something that suited your needs.
